Translating C to V and Interop Projects
44.1 c2v
c2v is installed on first use (it needs Clang/libclang).
Notable result: DOOM translated to V (the vlang/doom repo). Translated code uses the @[translated] attribute and relaxed rules.
v translate file.c # translate a C file to V
v translate project_dir/ # translate a whole project (with a c2v.toml config)
v translate wrapper header.h # generate V wrapper declarations for a C header44.2 Strategy for Wrapping Libraries
Generate raw declarations (v translate wrapper) or write the C. fn declarations by hand.
Add #flag/#include/#pkgconfig directives, platform-specific files (_linux.c.v, _windows.c.v).
Build an idiomatic layer: structs with methods, !T results for error codes, free() methods, safe string conversion.
Test on all target platforms. Publish to VPM.
