Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information EngiLipi (engilipi.com, "we", "us") handles when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. In short: your learning data stays in your browser unless you sign in (then it is also saved to your account), we count visits without cookies and without identifying you, we do not sell data, and the advertising on the site is provided by Google.
Information stored in your browser
To remember your progress without an account, the site saves data in your browser's local storage on your own device. This includes completed lessons, quiz answers, achievements and certificates, Code Studio projects and settings, practice progress, interview-preparation marks, favourite and recent calculators, your theme setting and your EngiLipi AI conversation history.
This data is not sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings; doing so resets your progress.
Accounts (optional)
You can use the whole site without an account. When accounts are available and you create one, we store:
- your name, email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password itself);
- session records so you stay signed in — the session lives in a secure, HttpOnly cookie, and we keep the browser type and IP address of each session so you can see and end your active sessions;
- a short security log of account events (such as sign-ins and password changes) with the IP address, and counters of failed sign-in attempts, to protect accounts from abuse;
- password-reset emails are sent through an email delivery provider, which receives your email address for that purpose.
While you are signed in, your learning progress (completed lessons, quiz answers, achievements and certificates, practice, interview-preparation and Project Atlas progress) is also saved to your account, so it follows you to every device you sign in on. Code Studio projects, your theme, recent searches and EngiLipi AI conversations stay only in your browser. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which removes your account, its sessions and the progress saved to it.
Advertising
The site shows advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, and to measure them.
You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com), and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info.
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
Other services the site uses
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- The site is delivered by a hosting provider, which processes technical request information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
- Visits may be counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records which pages are viewed, how fast they load, the referring site and the general type of browser, device and country. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not identify you or follow you across other sites, and is not used for advertising (https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/).
- Code Studio runs code in your browser. If you choose to connect an external code-execution server yourself, the code you run is sent to that server.
What we do not do
- We do not use cookies or fingerprinting to track you for analytics, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- The EngiLipi AI assistant runs entirely in your browser; your questions are not sent to us or to any AI service.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Younger learners should use the site with a parent or guardian, who may contact us to have any account information removed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information and to withdraw consent. Most of this is in your hands directly: browser data can be cleared in your browser, and an account can be edited or deleted on the Account page. For anything else, contact us at the address below.
Security and retention
The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as strong hashes, and session cookies cannot be read by scripts. Account information is kept while your account exists and removed when you delete it; security logs are kept only as long as needed to protect accounts.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if how the site handles information changes, and change the date below. Questions or requests: [email protected].
