Course Overview

What this V Programming Language course covers, how to use it, prerequisites.

A structured, hands-on course on the V programming language (vlang). It runs from your first println to generics, sum types, concurrency, C interop, compile-time reflection, the built-in ORM, web development with veb, graphics with gg, cross-compilation, and production practices.

Targets V 0.4.x / 0.5.x. V is still pre-1.0. Some features (autofree, the native backend, parts of the stdlib) are experimental and the syntax still evolves. Check v up and the official docs for the latest changes.

Course Overview

Beginners with basic programming exposure, and Go/C/Rust/Python developers

Basic programming concepts. C knowledge helps for the interop modules.

~70–90 hours (self-paced), 7–9 weeks V (latest from GitHub), a C compiler (V ships with TCC on most platforms; GCC/Clang/MSVC for optimized builds), VS Code + the V extension (v-analyzer)

V Playground (play.vlang.io), Exercism V track, Advent of Code, Rosetta Code
