Course Overview

What this Apache Groovy Programming course covers, how to use it, prerequisites.

A structured, hands-on course on Apache Groovy, the dynamic and optionally statically typed language for the JVM. It runs from your first println to closures, collections, OOP with traits and records, metaprogramming (MOP, AST transformations), DSLs, builders, JSON/XML processing, GINQ, testing with Spock, Gradle, Jenkins pipelines, Grails/Micronaut, and production practices.

Targets Groovy 4.x (with notes on Groovy 5). Groovy 4 introduced the org.apache.groovy Maven coordinates, records, sealed types, switch expressions, and GINQ. Groovy 5 requires JDK 11+ and adds further JDK alignment and language improvements. Check the release notes for your version.
