- Gallons here are US gallons.
Questions people ask
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit by hand?
Multiply by 9/5 and add 32: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Water boils at 100 °C = 212 °F, and body temperature is 37 °C = 98.6 °F. At −40 the two scales read the same.
Is a gigabyte 1000 or 1024 megabytes?
Both conventions are used. This converter uses 1 GB = 1024 MB, as Windows does. Drive makers use 1 GB = 1000 MB, which is why a new drive looks smaller on a computer than on its box. The precise names for the 1024 steps are MiB and GiB.
Why are US and UK gallons different?
A US gallon is 3.785 litres and a UK (imperial) gallon is 4.546 litres, about 20 % more. This converter uses US gallons, so check which one your fuel figure or recipe means.
